Equifax Data Breach

By now, many of our clients are aware of the Equifax data breach.  Politico has continuing coverage here: http://www.politico.com/story/2017/09/07/equifax-hack-exposes-millions-data-242458

If any of you have concerns about misuse of your personal credit report information, please call us.

We we will also direct your attention to a piece by our friend Paul Bland at the Public Justice Foundation:https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2017/9/8/1697036/-143-Million-Reasons-Congress-Shouldn-t-Gut-the-Fair-Credit-Reporting-Act?_=2017-09-08T08:19:44.446-07:00

Congress is debating changes to the Fair Credit Reporting Act this week.  As Equifax’s data breach shows, this is certainly not the time to weaken federal consumer protection laws.  We encourage all of our clients to contact Senators McConnell and Paul to oppose these changes.  Senator McConnell’s number is (202) 224-2541.  Senator Paul’s number is (202) 224-4343.
